DIEZ has been a charmer since day one; with a big dose of spirit as you can see from the baby pics. She's pretty sure she rules and as long as we keep her fiefdom within reason, it's okay. She likes to lead and is quite happy to walk up to a scary object and say hello. There was a piece of plywood on the ground which the wind was catching at the corners and she stepped right up and on it. Thank you very much. She would make an awesome Working Equitation horse because she's very tidy with herself and easy to navigate. In fact, she's the one horse I've had that I haven't truly had to train. Just ask and go. She was a little opinionated and impatient in the beginning but has settled in to her job. Although young and green last year, I could take her out of the field without any work for weeks and with a little lunging as a reminder, just hop on and go. I have not done much with her trying to keep her price low; however, next spring (2017) she'll start serious work and her price will increase. I used a horse vac on her last week and although not happy, she was good to stand there. Amazing really. She is also an easy keeper - okay, whom am I kidding, she's a tubby if allowed 24/7 access to grass and/or hay; although a harder work routine would help her waistline. She has been on trails early last year but not since then and not alone. She is compact in the old-fashioned way of Andalusians, a very feminine head with lots of mane and tail. She's iron grey at the moment and will probably slowly turn white as she ages. She carries me (5.6 and 140lb) easily and I don't feel under-horsed. Diez has a tidy little jump but that's only over cavaletti so far. She can canter a 5m circle easily and did a lovely leg yield when first asked. What can I say, SHE's FUN.
